I'm planning to move to the south soon- I can't take the winters up north anymore and since I'm a garden and plant person I'm wondering where the best places are if I want to grow such things as flowering plants and citrus trees. What is the best place to live and raise children in Georgia? Rosswell or Peachtree? We are a Puerto Rican family looking to relocate to Georgia. I am a clinical psychologist and my husband recently retired from the US Air force. We have a 5 year old girl and a four year old boy and our main reason to relocate is because things in Puerto Rico are looking pretty bad. The economy is about to collapse and companies are exploring the possibility to relocate to other countries. They said that Georgia is one of the best places with best “quality of Life”. I read that Roswell and Peachtree have won several awards. We are CLULESS about were would the best place for us and for our children. I love old houses, victorian, or colonial stye and something that I said that I MUST have if we ever moved again is that I want some privacy, big backyard and a very privatte and quiet setting. The school is another issue, we are homeschoolers but we are looking forward to put our children back to the system and for us having a good elementary school with a good ratio of diferrent ethnic groups is critical. We are fully bilingual but it would be nice if our children could have friends that can speak their main native language which is spanish. Any ideas were could we start looking for good comunnites to raise our children? Both my husband and I are planning to work in Atlanta so keep that in consideration since I must struggle to work and deal with going to pick up the kids at school.

Places to camp and canoe in Georgia? I need some recommendations for places where a group can camp and canoe for a weekend. No whitewater rafting; we're looking for a campground close by a scenic waterway that is mostly calm so we can take in the wildlife around us but also has a few rapids navigable by canoe.
