Best BIG city to live in? When I am done with court reporting school, I am looking to move to a big city with lots of work. Going to be going into freelance depos. If you had to rank the "best big cities" in America, what would your list look like? I’m doing this research b/c I’m thinking of moving and I want to live in an area that offers big city living. I think the ideal “big city” not only has a large, dense population with a sprawling metro area, but also great nightlife/culture and restaurants, a bustling job market, big time sports, a “global city” reputation w/ lots of diversity, good public transportation and is also a tourist destination. With these parameters in mind, I created a five-tiered list of my own that classifies U.S. cities in terms of their urban appeal. Any feedback or arguments? Which cities should have made my list but didn't? Tier 1 -New York -Los Angeles -Chicago Tier 2 -Boston -San Francisco -Washington, DC -Miami -Dallas Tier 3 -Houston -Philadelphia -Atlanta -Seattle -San Diego Tier 4 -Denver -Phoenix -Minneapolis -Baltimore -Las Vegas -Detroit Tier 5 -Pittsburgh -Cleveland -Austin -St Louis -Portland, OR -Charlotte -Nashville -Milwaukee -New Orleans

Best Cities To Live In? I was wondering what some good cities to live in are? I live in ohio right now and I hate it! I have lived here all my life and I think its soooooo lame and boring. Best Cities to live in after college? Some where with a great nightlife. Look below? I am finished with school with a Degree in Journalism and I have been sending my resume to different city. Some medium size some big size. I just want to know from everyone what is the best place to live for a new college graduate in Journalism. I have written a lot of papers at a newspaper while in college so that won't be a problem. I am looking for a place where I can have fun but at the same time have a easy time finding work.
Best big US city to live in? When I graduate from college I plan on moving to a large city for a few years before moving back to my hometown area. The thing is that I'm not sure where to go. I've been to Seattle, San Diego, Chicago and Miami - definately don't want to go to FL. I really liked San Diego but don't know if it's way too expensive. Seattle is my favorite, by far, but all my family is on the East Coast. My job will allow me to go anywhere. I'd prefer to live by water but don't need to. Any advice for the cities you have lived in/ visited? Also, if I move somewhere like NY or Seattle I probably won't have a car because it's not necessary (unless I live in a suburb.). I only want to be there for 3-5 years and have a small apartment, no home buying necessary. Thanks in advance!
Why do people live in big cities? I hear all the time of how people suffer financially and thefore emotionally. I've heard people say that when you go to a big city they can't leave because they don't feel like they have another option, but I live in a modest sized town (25,000-30,000) and anybody can get a good paying job and decent housing, and people on the street are nice to each other. So...... People living in big cities, can ya help me out?

Why are people that live in big cities more liberal than people that live in small cities? It seems like, in general, people that live in big cities are more liberal than people that live in small cities. New Yorkers, for example, are in general more liberal than people that live in Des Moines Iowa. People in Boston are more liberal than people that live in Lincoln Nebraska, and people in San Francisco are more liberal than people in Bismark North Dakota. It's not an exact relationship. Obviously, there are conservatives in big cities, but in general it seems like big cities are more liberal. I'm not judging or advocating that trend, just observing it. What are the reasons for that?
What is the best town/city to live in near London in England? I've always wanted to go to England and I have the chance to go there for a year. Now, the problem is deciding where. What kinds of places are best for highly introverted people to live in? Any specific cities/towns? I've heard some people say big cities are better because people mind their own business, you can be anonymous, and it's easier to find people who share your unique interests. However, I've heard others say small towns are better because of the stability, peacefulness, and less overwhelming stimulation. Which is best? Any particular places? Advice if you'd like to live in a big city someday, far from your family?
