Relocating to Seattle, where are the best places to live? Where are the best places for young, single, 20something professionals to live in the greater seattle area? I will be working South of the city, I'm not worried about traffic because I'm coming from Boston which means it takes 2.5 hours to get into the city from 20 miles out. I also would prefer not to live near the colleges if possible, again I've come from Boston and I moved out of the city so I could get away from the students who partied every night during the week. I would like to live in Seattle and do a reverse commute, and yes I will be on the right side of the water to where I will be working. I also have no desire to buy a home anytime soon. I am single and am selling my house in Boston. I don't anticipate this move to be for more than 5 years and I don't have any desire to deal with the stresses of real estate again, like I am now. While I appreciate that people think I should buy a house or "live near my work" I don't want to know your opinion on my decision, I want to know where the best places are to live in the Greater Seattle Area.

Good (affordable) places to live in Mex for 42 yo single, American woman? Need your advice, please - am looking for nice, affordable, not too touristy locales to live in Mexico for a single, 42 yo American woman. Serious responses only, please. I will not benefit from sarcasm, rudeness, meanness or pessimism. I really do want to do this. Thanks in advance for all your responses. :)

Best place to live in Atlanta for vegetarian single? I might be moving to the Atlanta metro to take up a job, specifically in Alpharetta. Moving from California and have never been to Atlanta. Have no idea on where to live. I'm a vegetarian single in my 30's and would prefer being near places that might have some vegetarian restaurants or natural food stores nearby. Not too much into the night-life scene, and like being very active (running, hiking, etc) but it would be nice to be around young single people. Willing to spend around $800 on a studio/one-bed apt, preferably including utilities. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
Where are the best places for a single female to live in NYC? I'm considering a move to New York City - single female, mid-20s. Where are the best neighbourhoods for single females (relatively safe, close to transportation, etc.)? Thanks! More details.... I'm from Toronto - forgive me...I've never been to New York City. The only knowledge I have is what I've researched on my own, Google Maps and various TV shows. My potential job will be in a building in Times Square. I know many people take cabs in NYC but that will run a bit, so I want to make sure I won't spend more than two hours on the trains/buses to get to Times Square. My budget: anything under $2000/mo...NO roommate. And no roachfests, either!!! I was looking at some apartments online in Harlem. A lot of them have been renovated. Any single women living there can give me an idea of safety in the area?

Best place for thirtysomethings to live in Chicago? Hi, you all! I am moving to Chicago in about six weeks, to take a faculty position at a school in the Hyde Park area. Is that a good place for a young-ish, single, academic type to live? Are there other suggestions for great neighborhoods? I want to be in the city, but still need trees around! I'm kind of past the stage of needing late-night bars and clubs, but need things like great coffee shops and restaurants, as well as a nice place to get a glass of wine. Also, while I'm no chicken, I do want to feel relatively safe... Thanks for any advice you have to offer!
