Inspired by the Top 10 Best Places To Live in America- Can You Tell Me About Where You Live? (was difficult to categorize this question) This Money list of Best Places To Live 2007 inspired me to want to ask you about where you live. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2007/ Obviously, many places did not make the top 10- and that is why I think this question & answers would be interesting. Can you tell me about where you live and why you think it may be deserving of being listed as one of the "Best Places To Live"? OK- no responses yet. If you are worried about publicly listing where you live- feel free to send me a private email :)

Where inside the USA is the best place to live and why? Our family has moved 29 times over the years. We have transversed the nation several times and now as I left my former career, we have settled in what I feel is one of the two best places. I'd like to know where you think is the best place to settle down and why? Just for info.: We are a fairly young family (I'm 42) with two children ages 10, and 12. We were lucky enough to retire early and spend time with our kids while they are still growing We chose Western Montana near Helena for various reasons. What would be your choice?
Would you live in this kind of place for 10 weeks? I am from Singapore and now temporarily living in PJ in KL. The room is basically small that can only accomodate a mirror, small table, a mattress, no TV, a small fan, no wardrobe or cupboard to keep in clothes. Trust me, we cannot put anything else. The toilet is being shared by this family that our company rented a room for us to stay. All of my business clothes and other clothes are packed inside my luggage. There is only a few nails here and there to hang my clothes. And guess what? There are two of us living in that room. If you think you can't please tell me because I am not sure if I can bring the accomodation issue to the HR manager and my lecturer. By the way, my friend and I are working in KL for attachment purposes, so, is it feasible for us to ask for a better accomodation? Paramount Sea Park Gardens, Petaling Jaya
Where is the best place for me to live that stays COOL most of the year? (and cold some parts of the year?)? I am looking for a place to live in the United States that meets this criteria: 1. safe 2. beautiful 3. cool year-round with NO hot weather 4. Close to a LARGE city yet has rural areas (I want a garden!) 5. Low unemployment 6. Low cost of living 7. Great schools 8. Good Word of Faith Church (following teachings of Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, and Jesse Duplantis) 9. Community activities 10. Where is the best place to live in America? Now before jumping in telling me how great your town/city is, I have certain criteria to be met. 1. Summer - warm, not too hot. High 80s upwards wears me out. 2. Winter - not too cold and little/no snow. I'm a Brit looking for warmer climes. 3. Population - twixt 100k - 250k (circa 90,000 might also qualify). 4. Weather - NO hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, flooding etc. Not too much rain either. 5. Crime - low (preferable VERY low). 6. Lakes - bring 'em on. 7. Hills/mountains - nice to look at. I might even climb one. 8. Good schools - for 10 year old. 9. Religion - Jewish community of at least 200 families. 10. Quality of life - excellent. Clean air. Clean water. Friendly people. 11. Cost of living - in between inexpensive and reasonable. I don't want to have to work to live or should that be the other way round? 12. Arts & Culture - theatres, cinemas and museums nearby. 13. Health - Great hospitals/medical facilities. Thank you.
Where would be the best place for me, my 10 month old, and her dad to go for emergency housing in san diego? The three of us are in immediate need of a place to live. We have looked into residentual substance abuse programs, but the only ones that seem to accept children are for women only. Does anybody know of a program that takes families(men women and children)? It doesn't have to be a sub. abuse program, but something geared towards job assistance, and other resources would probably work the best. We're very desperate right now so anywhere would do, however currently we are in san diego.
Commute or live off campus - the timeless question (10 points for best answer)? I have two options for commuting - taking the train or taking a car. The train is good because I live less than a mile from the station and the destination station is less than 2 miles from class. A folding bicycle will take me from home to the train, and from the station to class. The second option is commuting with a car. The problem is that traffic is very bad in the morning and gas is expensive. Also, parking at the stadium is about $400 a year. Car repairs can add up to a lot. On the other hand, they also offer more freedom. The third option is getting a place off campus. Living off campus is convenient. However, the expense (about $6000 per year) and potential noise and security issues makes it less attractive. Which do you think is best?

Best places to live in the south west? I currently live in a rural area just outside a large town of around 60,000 people in the south east of England, near London. I am getting really fed up with all the noise pollution and traffic in the South East (which has increased 10-fold in the last 10 years or so) and as I don't plan to work in London, I don't really see the need for me to be living so close when I could live in the South West, which is cheaper, more quiet and with a better quality of life. I would like to live fairly close to a largish town (within 15-20 minutes drive) but I would like to be out in the countryside where there will be little noise of traffic, airplanes, etc. Can anyone recommend a good area to live in the south west, either Dorset, Cornwall, Devon or Somerset?
Best place to live in Minnesota, possibly suburbs? I want to live in MN within the next six years... If anyone could recommend an area and a little explanation, I would be so grateful! These are the things I'm looking for: -A small town feel -Somewhere where I can have lots of land/a farm -Less than 2 hours away from downtown Nashville -Not too many houses around I want to live somewhere where there isn't a lot of suburbs. I also would love to have at least 5 acres of land. I'm also willing to buy a very old house, so it doesnt matter the ages of the homes in an area. My price range would be up to about $200,000.
