best places to live

California?

My husband and I want to move to California, we´ve got 2 kids and a teen. What do you think is the best place in California, and also, What do you think is the best place to buy a home in LA, in San Francisco and San Diego. thank you, I need it we are doctors and we want to move to a hospital but we don´t know which one yet because we don´t where we will move to. I want a beautiful house with garden where my kids can play and a good school for they. I know California is too expensive but, It doesn´t matter for us.

  1. You have kids and WANT to move to california?? Are you crazy?
  2. Chill in San Diego. Cats everywhere are envious of anything in California. San Diego is like added insult to injury. Buy a home in San Diego as well.
  3. California is a great state! Southern Cal. is awesome. There are numerous of places that are good for raising a family. I will suggest the following cities based on how diversity and crime rates: Torrance (This city is not too far from the beach, though it is big, the nicer areas are toward the west) Redondo Beach (This is a beautiful beach city) Hermosa Beach (right next to Redondo Beach) Santa Monica (This city has a lovely pier and is a pretty busy tourist destination) Brentwood (right next to Santa Monica) Long Beach (This city is beautiful but the nicer areas are along the beach) Belmont Shore (This is a small community within Long Beach, this place is beautiful and very safe) Any of these areas would do for purchasing a house. Sorry I can't help with the San Francisco and San Diego area. Good luck! : )
  4. I agree with suraci BUT to buy a home in those areas is sooo expensive, to save a little yet still get the california feel, I love to reccomend central coast of california, it's way more peaceful, yet not too far from l.a. or san francisco... I love the towns of sal luis obispo, solvang, buellton, santa maria. good luck.
  5. Try near Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Rocklin, Roseville, Folsom. Lots of homes avalible due to forclosures and Sac is one of the fastest growing areas in the country, good schools also.
  6. We live in Irvine in Orange County, California. I've lived here all my life. No, we are not crazy and no, we don't all eat granola and do yoga all day. Orange County is actually very conservative (but not too much). A lot of people move here (Irvine) from back east because the neighborhoods are friendly, the schools are excellent, the weather is perfect and the city is a master-planned community. The ONLY drawback is that it's expensive. There are a lot of technological jobs here in Irvine and it's America's safest city over 100,000. No matter where you move, there will be some trade-offs; it just depends on what's important to you and your family. Personally, I would avoid San Francisco, as it's even MORE expensive than OC. San Diego is a wonderful, family-friendly place to live, too. Worth looking into. Good luck to you and if you move, welcome!
  7. It is difficult to give you a "best place" answer because California is a large state, and the different regions are all very different. The ONLY common thing about living in California is that it is very expensive. There are large and small cities, beaches, mountains and deserts. Urban and rural. There are places that stay relatively warm all year round, and places that get very cold in the winter or extremely hot in the summer. What are you looking for? What kind of work do you do? Please add a little detail about what you are looking for so we can narrow down the choices.
  8. Homes are very expensive in all the places you asked about. There are still a few affordable places..check out the Inland Empire in places such as Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, San Bernadino, Fontana. The areas that would be best to raise your kids would be places that you could not afford to live. You might also try Montrose, Burbank, La Crescenta, Glendale, and Pasadena. These are all very nice, safe places to live..but on the more expensive side! Houses anywhere in San Francisco are outrageous..check out suburbs for something cheaper. San Diego may be cheaper than both San Francisco and LA depending on neighborhood.
