What are best places in Texas to live, and why do you think so? What are the people like there?
Please try to give specific zip codes-thanks! I don't need to be near schools and prefer mid or small communities for example Dallas seems small but heavily populated and constantly growning- the rat race is not for me and I prefer scenic areas without public bus lines! With Texas being the largest state and only 3 answers WoW it can't be that great!

- I would say Austin Texas 73301. It is a college town but has great schools. You can get a good size home for a nice price, and the poeple are great. They have plenty to do and some many nice places to eat. You can walk along the river or catch a Texas football game. My sister lives there and loves it, she just bought a nice sized house for a great price compared to what im used to in Chicago area. I loved Austin
- Anywhere north of Dallas such as McKinney, Anna, Van Alstyne, Howe or North west of Dallas :Frisco, The Colony, or Celina. These are all great towns. I live about 60 miles North of Dallas and I wouldn't live anywhere else in Texas. The people are great. Public transportation doesn't exist in some of these smaller towns.
- You may want to try the Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio. Nice green areas, plus "hills". Corpus Christi isn't that big and you are right near the beach. South Padre Island is very sleepy most of the time, except for Spring Break and it's got beaches and lots of nice scenery. There's some areas in the are where I live, the Rio Grande Valley, that are still uninhabited and you can live out in the country and it will be be half a mile or two to get to your neighbors. We're pretty friendly.
