best place in Texas to travel?

I am thinking about a long weekend in TX. I need one city to travel too? What is the best? and why? I am just a good ole country gal myself. So I would like some good dining and great sights to see. I don't need the outdoors and I am not really into a wild bar crowd.

1. if you like shopping, go to Fredricksburg. there's antiques, gifts, soaps, and a bunch of other stuff. it can also be kinda romantic :) oh, there's an antique shop that sells pickles. they're the best pickles you'll ever taste!
2. Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you absolutely, positively have to visit Texas, then I hear nice things about Austin and San Antonio. The rest of the state is full of gun-loving hicks who're responsible for George Dubya Bush.
3. what ae you looking for, Austin, if you like a place to party, nice lakes. Do you like the beach? where are you coming from , Texas is so big, it take two days to cross Texas. Do you like the piney woods and lakes, Big cities, small towns, so many thing to see it would be hard to say. But if you let me know, what you are looking for then i can help
