Where are the best places to buy furniture in North Carolina? Is it worth my while to make a trip there?

I need several rooms of furniture for a new home. I am planning to go to Hickory and High Point around the middle of February. Will this save me money and where are the best places to buy? Is mid-February a good time of the year to go?

1. I live in NY, shopped for the makes I wanted here, and got all my prices by telephone. I saved a great deal of money, thousands on my Bernhardt dining set alone. Sorry I don't recall any of the names.
2. Mid Feb is fine u might run into a little snow but not enough to stop u and High Point is the furniture capital u will definately find some good furniture for every room in your home!!!!!! I live in South Carolina so i know a little

6. Go online and browse several outlets there before you go. I just entered 'north carolina furniture' and pulled up quite a few.
7. I know of 2 people who have gone down to NC to purchase furniture. Both said that even though the furniture is beautiful, it was not worth it for the time and aggravation. They are located in NY. One of them had to pay for the flight down there the other drove. Then there are hotel stays. Where is the savings there if you are spending money on that? Then beware of the shipping to where you live. Most of them 'drop ship' the furniture. That means they won't bring it in your home, not even to your front door (because the furniture arrives in one of those 18 wheelers). And if you are at work, you just may come home and your furniture is there. You are responsible for bringing it in. So if you live close to NC it may be worth it. And do your homework on your shipping and make sure they they will deliver to your door and set it up in the room you want it set up in.
