Where are the best places to mine and or pan for gems in Tennessee and North Carolina?

I am going to TN and NC this summer and I wanted to mine or pan for gemstones. If you know then could you also tell me the prices. Thank You

2. I have been to the same place in LIttle Switzerland, NC twice (I live in Raleigh so its a pretty long drive) and we really had a fun fun time. The website is http://www.emeraldvillage.com/ and under the gem bucket link the prices are shown. The gems in the larger buckets - $35 and up are large enough to have them polished and made into jewelry. We got a ring and pendant for less than a $100. They made great little keepsakes. Have fun!!
