Where is the best place to stay in north carolina, by the coast????

going to be in charlotte for a bowling tourny with my mom and we wanted to make it a last hoohaa for vacation so we were going to go to myrtle beach,but our hotel is not honoring our reservation any longer. now we need some ideas for a weekend trip before going back to ohio guess i forgot to put the s.c. after myrtle beach,

1. myrtle beach is in south carolina... there's a nice hotel in wilmington, nc... that's close enough to sc. ameri-stay inn and suites. complimentary coffee, tea and fresh fruits 24/7. lol. edit. so you're going back to nc after going to sc? anyway ^_^ how about kitty hawk? you can take hang gliding lessons
2. If you plan on staying in North Carolina for the weekend, I would suggest the Outer Banks. This time of year hotels are a little higher in price since it is tourist season, however it is beautiful. For our wedding, my husband and I went to Corolla, NC and stayed at a place called "The Inn at Corolla Light" and it was the best place I have ever stayed in, and was well worth the money.
