Where are the best places to live in Maine?

I currently live in Rhode Island and my girlfriend and I want to move up there in a few years after we get teaching degrees...we vacation in Maine on the southern coast every year and absolutely love it...so much that we've decided we want to live in Maine...any suggestions on the best places to reside would be much appreciative. Thanks!

1. My sister lives in Maine in the Kennybunk area. Very nice but very expensive. You will find the cost of living there significantly highter than in Rhode Island. Property taxes are getting so high now that people that have lived there for years are leaving. My sister is also a teacher and it appears as though they are doing some cut backs in education also. Just a heads up and do your homework before you move! Good luck.
2. i've been to maine several times. i love augusta as it is beautiful in places. also portland is very popular (yes portland maine not oregon)
