  2. The Estes Park area is beautiful I would say it is the best in the state.
  3. check on-line. there should be state park web sites for every state (dcnr). they will have camping information. as well as the game commission in your state.
  4. I agree with the person who recommended Estes Park. By far, the best area. Lots to see and do.
  5. Lake Vallecito, near Durango, CO is nice. Lots of trees, a small lake and plenty of wildlife. You can rent boats there and it's a lot of fun because not many people go there. Mostly fisherman. There is primitive camping on one side of the lake (i.e., no flushing, no showers, etc.) and there are places where you can rent cabins or park your RV on the other side.
  6. Yes, Rocky Mountain National Park, (next to Estes Park), would probably be best for what you want. There is also the Maroon Bells, (near Aspen), which are spectacular mountain peaks, but there isn't as much camping there as there is at RMNP.
