where is the best places to go sledding in Denver, Colorado?

Public Comments

  1. Ruby Hill Park, in the southwest part of Denver, has always been known as a prime sledding spot. It's located at S. Platte River Drive between W. Florida and W. Jewell.
  2. on the way up to winter park, right before you get there there is a turn off and right away you will see tons of sledders. it has a steep hill for thrill seekers and a no so steep hill for children. and its not as hard as some hills to walk up it. if you cant find it then you can go to the winter park ionfo center and they will give you better info
  3. Tomorrow (Friday) morning it will be your neighborhood street. And it will be your only mode of transportation.
  4. Several years ago at night a thrillseeking friend and I discovered Inspiration Point Park near Lakeside, which had some good runs. It helps if you can navigate your sled well, as there are some trees to negotiate. In walking around that area, the real treat we discovered was W. 50th Ave and Benton St., which is like a street in San Francisco- a seriously crazy hill with a great view of north Denver at the top. It is a neighborhood street, but after a good snow there is virtually no traffic there because vehicles have no chance of making it up the hill. You can sled right down the middle of the street, get some serious speed, then ride out the momentum at the bottom where the slope levels out. It's probably best there after a fresh snow, before any plows can get to it.
