We are going to be in Grand County, Colorado. Looking for tips on the best places to visit in the area?

We will be there for the last week of May and first week of June.

2. It has been a few years since we were there but I'll share what I thought were the best things to do. There are paddle boat & kyack rentals on the north side of Grand Lake. There are several hoeseback riding places but the best one is west of Grand Lake a mile or so. They go into Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) and are not as commercialized. Be sure to take Trail Ridge road to the top for some spectacular views. You almost always see elk and moose on this drive. There is a really nice lake just sound of Lak Granby (Monarch Lake) with some fishing and good hiking. Good luck and have fun! Jim
3. Hike down into the canyon if possible. Its a strenuous trip so don't do it with young kids or anyone in questionable health, but if your group is able its well worth it. Start at the main trail head and hike to the 1/2 way point or the canyon floor depending on ability and time. You'll feel so good after and will remember it for the rest of your life. Bring lots of water and trail mix!
