What place in Colorado would you recommend for the best overall skiing experience?

  1. Definitely Aspen. This city and their resorts are often in the top five for best skiing experiences in the United States. You will have lots of fun there.
  2. Breckinridge is an absolutley amazing place to.Its a really nice mountain with varied levels and its not very crowded
  3. Well its tough to say. If you're an experienced skier, it's everyone's dream to ski at Vail. If you're not, or you want a friendlier atmosphere, Steamboat is great. Sb is also a good choice for families.
  4. A-basin. But I haven't skied Steamboat, Aspen or Vail. A-basin (in my opinion) is better than Copper and Winterpark.
  5. steamboat. its not as snobby as aspen and the terrain is just as good...plus there is hot springs and the area is beautiful.
  6. I recomend Steamboat. Its less crowed then Aspen of Vail and the people are really nice.
  7. My best ski expereince in Colorado was at Vail. The back bowls are huge and each one has more skiable terrain than anything in the east. We stayed in Summit county and also skiied at Breckenridge, Keystone Araphoe Basin and Aspen Highlands. All good ski areas athough i must admit I like Utah better as it is more challenging.
  8. You really can't go wrong with most of the resorts in Colorado. I've skied almost all of them, and it largely depends on what you are looking for out of the trip. While Aspen and Vail have loads of terrain and lots of shopping, as some people have already noted, the resorts cater to the rich and famous, so the people can be a bit snobby. Steamboat, on the other hand, is a great mountain with great snow and a more laid back atmosphere, but the night life and shopping aren't as great. If you looking for steeps and difficult terrain, you can't beat A-Basin - but be sure to check the snow report - if it is a down year for snow, A-Basin is not the place to go. Also, it's not really a destination resort. The best family-oriented mountain is Copper Mountain. Plus, Breckenridge and Keystone are less than 30 minutes away, so you can hit those mountains as well without much of a commute. If you don't want to stay at the actual mountain, you can stay in Frisco or Silverthorne and have access to all 3. But, my overall favorite place is Telluride. The mountain is great and the quaint little town is nestled in a beautiful valley. I've been there a couple of times with my girlfriend (who is a beginner) and we had a great time. It's very romantic. Have fun!
  9. breckenride but the best thing u can do is buy a week long pass that is good for vail keystone and breck. this is good because you willl not be bored at any of them i beleive keystone has night ski but if i was you i wouldnt recomend aspen unless you are expereinced because those people up at aspen are rich and rude people. overall as a resort i would recommend breck. it has a good area for kids, beginners, intermediate, and advanced also every time i go there every one seems to be very friendly i wouldnt recommend you go spring break unless your a black or diamond skiier because those are the only lifts that arent packed at spring break but other that it is a great resort overall
  10. I go to Summit County often.I stay in Frisco because I have a friend there.I have skied in Copper Mountain and Keystone. What is really nice there that every resort is so close to each other.Copper is 8 mi away,Keystone-6,then A-Basin is a bit further as well as Veil.I am not going to forget Breckenridge as well which is one of my favorite places...it just has that feel of a typical mountain cosy resort.I love the Main Street there.Veil is very nice as well.It reminds me of Europe a lot.I would say that all of them are very nice....there is a lot of stuff to do everywhere...it all depends on how you make the best out of your trip!!!That makes me start thinking about the winter!!!
  11. Steamboat NOT Aspen
