best places to live

Good places to cycle in COLORADO?

I am a Colorado native and looking to find some new secnic(beginner's/intermediate) trails, paths etc. around Colorado. I reside in NORTHERN COLORADO, but I am willing to drive elsewhere in the state. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

  1. i just went on vacation to rocky mountain national park i rented a bike and rode through there it was amazing i just rode on the paved roads but i bet if you took a gravel road it would be awsome too!
  2. if you like road biking boulder colorado is an amazing place with lots of pros and good roads
  3. the only good place i have been to is in durango. They have good trails in the mountains.
  4. I used to live in Greeley and we used to take our mtn bikes and ride in Loveland at a place called Devil's Backbone. It's on the way out of town toward Rocky Mtn Ntl Park.
  5. I used to live in Crested Butte. They've got some of the best mountain trails I've ever been on there, but they're not for the faint of heart (there really aren't any beginer trails there and there's lots of climbing). Steamboat is another great place to ride and the terrain is a little easier. There are lots of nice aspen rides there and the climbing isn't as bad as CB. Salida has some pretty good riding, but not much variety if I remember correctly. Fruita has some great riding as well, but I don't know too much about it. For what you're looking for, I'd probably push you toward Steamboat. Call the orange peel bike shop for more info: (970) 879-2957. GOOD LUCK!! HAVE FUN!! RIDE AND SMILE!!!!
