Places to leave near Roswell, Georgia?
Me, my hubby, and our 9 month-old son are soon to be moving from Europe to the Roswell, Georgia, area. Don't know anything about Georgia, so looking for info from GEORGIA RESIDENTS about the best places to look for apartments/houses that wouldn't be more than a 20-30min drive from Roswell (where we'll be working). Thinking that we'll live in an apartment for a year while we search/build a house. I've found a lot on the internet, so PLEASE don't answer with the obvious links to community sites. THANKS in advance!!

- Roswell and Alpharetta are good. Or you can stretch further west into Cherokee county or up north into Forsythe county. It is truly best to rent there for a year to get to know the area. Email me if you have any further questions. I've lived in the area for about 7 years.
- Roswell is lovely. It's got the Chattahoochee Nature Center, a host of brilliant restaurants and a good bit of history to boot. Aside from the sprawl and pavement, it has retained some of it's small town charm. I'm partial to areas that are near (or on) the river or small lakes. Roswell, Alpharetta, Crabapple, North Springs, Holly Springs, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Mountain Park, East Cobb (Marietta) and Sandy Plains Road or Highway 92 (Woodstock), Horseshoe Bend, Lake Winward, Rivermont, Jones Bridge, Willeo Creek, Country Club of the South - any of these areas might meet your distance needs depending on where in Roswell you'll be working. New houses, older houses in established neighborhoods, lots for sale - the variation is enormous. Apartments abound. Spalding Bridge off of Roswell Road is a nice complex. Some apartment complexes offer corporate apartments - Greenhouse Patio on Holcomb Bridge Road (there are so many complexes on the main thoroughfares) and The Laurels at Morgan Falls I believe still do. They'll all tell you with a pone call. There are so many options - getting here and finding something short term so you have the opportunity to weigh your options and find something that suits your needs and tastes may be the best route.
