what do I need to do for my band to "make it big?" How can an alternative band in central georgia go places?

I have a garage band in a small town south of Atlanta, Georgia we play alternative rock music. We have the goods, we just need to know how to be "heard." Any suggestions?

  1. play as much local gigs as you can and then move on to a bigger town
  2. Look for open mic nights and battle of the bands gigs around your area. Once you're comfortable playing in front of an audience, move to a bigger market and do the same. Make sure you are unique. Stand out from the crowd of wannabe alt rock bands. And, for God's sake, play a damn guitar solo once in a while!
  3. myspace, and find lots of venues in big cities.
  4. youtube.com,myspace.com,and try to play as much as you can!
  5. I'm out on a limb here, but maybe you should get out of Georgia. Go someplace 'bigger.'
  6. Go to Athens. There're always music scene people lurking around downtown and the UGA campus. If people like you, they might play you on the Athens radio station that plays a lot of indie and newbie artists.
  7. The Hiss made it out of Georgia, so can you if your talented enuff. Rock on!
  8. Go to the blue tomatto an other places that do shows an make a mysapce music page
