Best place to travel in Georgia?

Public Comments

  1. Certainly depends on what your interests are .... Atlanta has the most of everything. Anything you might want to find would be in Atlanta. Atlanta also has big time traffic problems. I loved Savannah because of its historic areas, and the airport is one of the small neat airport.
  2. In the Atlanta area be sure to visit The Martin Luther King Center. We found The World of Coke fun. Near the World of Coke is a unique mall-type place called Underground that we enjoyed.
  3. My favorite place in GA is the coastal area around Tybee Island and Savannah. Savannah is nice place for walking, you can walk just about anywhere. Tybee is a real nice beach. The area has moderate weather, year round.
  4. The Roswell and Alpharetta area! If you don't know where Roswell and Alpharetta are, they are the northern suburbs of Atlanta that are in the northernmost area of Fulton County. Alpharetta is the cleanest and most updated suburb in the Metropolitan Atlanta area. Roswell is VERY historic. It's right on the Chattahoochee River. One can have access to Roswell and Alpharetta by either of the following methods: -Take State Route 400 Northbound (you MUST pay the $.50 toll at the toll bridge past the Lenox Road exit) -Take the MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta's Transit System for DeKalb and Fulton Counties and the City of Atlanta) train going northbound to North Springs Transit Station and take either of the following bus routes from that station: 85 (Roswell/Alpharetta) by way of Alpharetta Highway, 140 (Mansell Road Park/Ride) also to Windward Parkway Park/Ride by way of North Point Parkway, or 143 (Windward Parkway Park/Ride) by way of Georgia State Route 400
  5. Tybee Island! It is so fun. You can boogie board walk along the beach or do whatever.
