best places to live

Where is the best place to live in the world?

  1. New York. No matter your age, there's so much going on... and so much opportunity, ways to hone your craft (no matter what it is), the 1000s of things you read are all true, the people you meet everywhere (the 10,000s of new tourists everyday, from everywhere is great for when you're in your 20's). The bars, clubs, parks, walks, city-streets. The pace, atmosphere, everywhere.. it takes years to experience this city. sports? colleges? music? art? dance? reading, authors? community? neighbors? family-centric places? shopping? selling anything? starting a business? excellent emergency, sanitation services, the 311 phone system is awesome too, hospitals are world-class - and NYC always draws the best & brightest. Vancouver was nice, but it's a suburban landscape like San Francisco etc. where even as a city, people don't hardly mingle where they live -- you have to "go somewhere" usually to see/interact with passersby. That's what makes Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Venice and Rome, Paris and London even more spectacular than most other places. I'd still take NYC -- and specifically, Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn in New York City.
  2. Dunmow!
  3. wherever you feel the most at home
  4. Under the sea.
  5. Arizona
  6. NEw York City
  7. Hawaii?
  8. Mendoza, Argentina
  9. mars i would love to be there...
  10. MEXICO!!!!!!!!(dont drink the water)
  11. Certainly not Burton Upon Trent! (Can't wait to leave, it's full of chavs)
  12. The iste of the original Garden Of Eden, a land flowing with milk and honey..............Scotland.
  13. in my bike shed
  14. In the mountains of East Tennessee.
  15. I would say Lausanne Switzerland...it's clean, beautiful and a safe place to raise children.
  16. Not sure, but think Australia would rank in the top few....
  17. Madrid
  18. San Diego, CA. Weather is awesome. Tons of stuff to do. Great culture and food. People are great. Good football and baseball teams. Good schools. Not too polluted. The women are hot. You can't go wrong.
  19. The best place to live in the world has to be that place where their are no other people about...!
  20. no place is better than the other, it depends on the people living there and the types of things you want out of were you live. If you want Hustle and Bustle then NYC is good if you want no one to visit you ever then a remote cabin in the woods is good it just depends on what type of environment you are looking for...
  21. I seem to remember Vancouver being named the best city to live ---I think its let down by its down and outs and beggers.Nothing wrong with Lancashire,I'll stay here.
  22. Hmm I would say Somewhere in Italy :)
  23. Newcastle, England Really friendly people and great nightlife.
  24. Madison, Indiana
  25. Sweden because it has the highest standard of living than nearly any other country or Canada for the same reasons. For starters their government listen to the people!!
  26. Torrey, Utah and Dayton, Wyoming are my favorite places both are tiny little-known villages at the edge of large beautiful wilderness areas
  27. Cartmell in Cumbria in English Lake District...a quaint village with a village square surrounded by two lovely pubs, bookshop, and a shop selling sticky toffee pudding...there are hanging baskets of flowers, a Michelin Strarred restaurant an Old priory church, surrounded by fields and views of the fells and to top it all a racecourse with horse racing four or five times a year.....bliss....
  28. Ranked from 1 to 3: 1. Melbourne, Australia 2. Vancouver, Canada 3. Perth, Australia
  29. Ireland. If you have loads of money.
  30. England, I have spent time in the middle east, near east on the continent but was so pleased to come back to dear old blighty, with all it's faults it is my home.
  31. Norway...Sweden...Australia
  32. If you want empty places and quiet...... Poland. There is no-one there, they all live in the UK!!!
  33. The place that feels most like home.
  34. the best location is wherever your friends are.
