Where is the best place to live from South Carolina to New York?

We are thinking about relocation between south carolina to New York & were looking for a place that has great jobs, schools, houses. & not a place where race matters, someplace nice! any suggestions??

1. Virginia Beach, VA, lived there for 3 years, clean and friendly stay away from Norfolk

3. The Washington DC area is pretty good on all of the criteria you specified. It's highly mixed race throughout the city and suburbs, and their are some excellent schools (in some areas) and a slew of jobs. The area is still growing due to the government continously hiring new people and all the contractors who work for the government. It's also pretty convenient travel wise, with three airports and a high speed train to NY. Traffic is a bit heavy though.
