My son is studying South Carolina History & the Civil War where is the best place for a 10 yr. old to look?
My son is studying South Carolina History and the Civil War and we are having a hard time because he is 10 and all of the info I am finding is really adult. I am looking for something kid friendly....since they don't have History books?

- There is a lot of Civil War information on the National Park Service websites for the various memorials and battlefields. Check out the Fort Sumpter website.
- Try taking him to Charleston. The center there has lots of murals and pictures with a paragraph here and there. I took my daughter when she was about ten years old and she got a lot out of it. (It is NOT "fun", per se, but it is informative and simple.)
- try your local library. the librarian should be able to help him find something appropriate to his age reading level about this subject.
- Try a local historical society or the library of congress.
