best places to live

What to do in Tuscon Arizona and best place to stay?

We are flying to Tuscon from UK in March. Would appreciate suggestions for what to do and where to stay. For health reasons won't be able to hire car but use public transport, taxis etc. Prefer a central hotel but not too pricey, near good attractions. Thanks for any suggestions. Hubby particularly interested in military planes so plan to visit bone yard if we can get there. Thanks

  1. i dont know how far it is fron tuscon but tombstone is awesome.
  2. You can find out everything at www.justinfunntravel.com. Start with what to do there by clicking on Extras then selecting tickets and attractions and then concerts and shows. The area around La Encantada has excellent shopping. Tuscon also has a Attractions Passport you can purchase through the site. All tickets are then 2 for 1. Great savings on 46 attractions including the Space Museum and Old Tuscon Studios. Then under Concerts and Shows, plug in Tuscon and get the Events Calander for when you are going to be there. The Oak Ridge Boys have a Concert there 12/16 and KT Tunstall on 12/17 Then figure out what you want to be close to. Click on Hotels, Put in the dates you need lodging. (Rates start at $44.00 USD per Night). You can now select hotels by Landmark, ie. City Center, The Air Port, Carrousel at the Tuscon Mall or Desert Diamond Casino. or by Area: Oro Valley/Marana, Green Valley/Nogales, Downtown or the Benson / Wilcox Area. Happy Traveling!!
  3. If you search for Tuscon on a good search engine you can then contact there tourist board who will send you more information free than you can shake a stick at. This will include maps, times between destinations, opening and closing times, bus and train time tables the lot.... Infact so much, I would need about 100 pages to explain it all here.... They include Hotels, motels, band B's and disability help too.... We always do this prior to a trip and have received so much info it makes the holiday almost stress free. Best bit, they also include local emergency contact numbers and things like that. Good luck and enjoy the hospitality and the holiday......
