Best places to shop in New York City? Preferably cheap place to go, where you can make deals?

Going to New York for the first time and I want to know where would be the best place to go to get a lot of cheap deals on shirts, purses, souvenirs, etc?

4. Souveniers are a rip-off, and there is no such thing as a "deal" on them. Take pictures instead. It depends on what kind of shirts and purses you are looking for. Century 21, Loehmanns, Daffy's, Filenes Basement, etc all have good prices but they won't dicker with you.
5. any real sote that will make deals in NYC is overcharging to begin with. The stores, at times, have great sales.
6. If you want cheap clothes you can shop any were in Nyc except 59 street those are the most expensives store you would really have visit the bronx for the cheap clothes

8. there are people on the street that sell stuff and u can bargain with them also you can go on the same block as the empire state building i just cant think of the name of the top of my head.and they have h&m and strawberry and then stuff like express and macys all on the same block. im sure u will love it!!!
