- Try to go to Silverthorne and go to Keystone or something around there. Keystone is about medium priced as far as it goes for resorts around here. Vail and Steamboat will be the most expensive. Breckenridge is a very nice area though too.
- Starting from denver going west : Boulder area - eldora resort, or winter park , then very good spot is e 205 of I -70 , Silverthorne , surrounded by 3 ( Breckenridge, Arapahao basin and keystone , where A-basin is the highest and cheapest and very good , Cooper mountain is still very close . Others Vail and Beaver creek much more expensive and snoby. You can rent several log houses for whole group for affordable price and best deal buy lift ticket 3 days in usable in 5 , which work for most of the tourists , becouse usually don't ski whole week. Then if you get good deal on motel room ? , there are many around in this area and transportation is for free , local buses , between villages ans resorts , and also there's CME colorado mountain express providing transportation from the airport .
- Best Kid friendly ski deal is Loveland. Its right off I-70 just east of the Eisenhower tunnel. Loveland has 2 mountains- Loveland Valley (very kid-friendly) and Loveland Basin (more challenging, big, wide open areas.) There are regular shuttle buses between the 2 mountains. Get the kids into ski school at the Valley, then take the bus over to the Basin. Do a few runs and take the shuttle back when ski school is done. If you are looking for a bargain for lodging, not sure if there is one in Summit County. Check online for hotels/motels in Georgetown or Idaho Springs, it may be cheaper.
- Wolf Creek Pass!! I go with kids for 13 dollar since im disability *deaf* mostly i go in for free. so check on hwy 160 on wolf creek pass. Alot of Hot springs in Pagosa Springs, etc it alot of enjoyment near wolf creek.
- Keystone will be cheap. You can get a condo or hotel in silverthorne for cheap as well. Vail & that is too expensive for the cost. Keystone has 3 mountains so if it's busy you can just hop back into the outback / North Peak. Only kicker at Breck is that you spend all day running across the lifts to get from one side to the other which takes up a good chunk of the day if it's busy. My advice is Keystone. Take the first lift up by River run & just jump off the back side & keep going. However if you're not too great on the slopes maybe stick around the front side. Lots of greens & blues. Plus if you snap something the medics are close "). Hope that helps!!! Oh one other option is staying in Frisco & driving up to Keystone as well. Frisco is about 7 miles around Lake Dillion to Keystone while Silverthorne is about 2 or 3 miles. Take care & be safe!
- You can try the summit county mountains (Abasin, Keystone, Breckenridge, or Copper), but a better option might be Eldora. It is cheap, they offer lessons, and it is about as close to denver as you can get.
- I second Eldora. Great little mountain and they seem to cater well to groups coming in.
- the cheapest ski reasort,Ski Cooper is in Leadville CO, it is a great family place, it has all blue and green runs. it isnt very close to denver (about 1.5 hour drive) but the drive there is BEAUTIFUL visit http://www.skicooper.com/ either way, have fun!
- I would say Eldora or Loveland. That's where I usually went when I was little, with my family.
