which european city has the best nightlife?

Public Comments

  1. Rome. My goodness some of the nights I had!
  2. 1. Lisbon, Portugal It's the cheapest capital in Western Europe according to a 2007 Mercer Consulting cost of living survey, meaning everything from hotels to taxis and dining cost less. 2. Barcelona, Spain Its trendsetting cuisine, architectural treasures, and nightlife are surprisingly affordable, with lovely beaches for recovering from endless nights. 3. Dublin, Ireland The city is compact enough to walk around, and many attractions, like the National Gallery, are free. 4. Riga, Latvia The largest, most urbane Baltic capital is hopping with development, yet it remains quaint and easy to navigate. Low-cost airlines like Ryanair and EasyJet make flying from London easy on the wallet. 5. Berlin, Germany The city is known for its bustling energy, the ambitious work of the world's best architects, a thriving art community, and a "we're-the-coolest-city" in Europe vibe. It ranked 45 out of 50 (London is No. 2) on the Mercer survey, which guarantees that the dollar will go a long way. 6. Bologna, italy Home to the ancient and renowned University of Bologna, this city attracts a manageable amount of tourists so it's priced for locals and it arguably has Italy's best food. 7. Budapest, Hungary Everything is still cheaper in Eastern Europe, even when you're living large at the most renowned hotels and restaurants. This city takes beauty seriously, from the ornate public baths to the architecture along the boulevards. 8. Ljubljana, Slovenia It's yet another contender for "new Prague" status for its riverside location and energy, cafés, cool bars, and baroque churches. Rent bikes for a few dollars and cruise the compact and beautiful city centre. 9. Zagreb, Croatia Not a fully-fledged tourist destination yet so it feels like a find. The capital is coming into its own with its grand architecture and plentiful cafés. 10. Antwerp, Belgium Antwerp's northern European cool rivals that of Copenhagen or Paris, without hitting their prices. Hope that helps! Cheers!
  3. Paige, you seem to have left out Prague! I came to Prague when I was in the army and stationed in Germany... I came for a weekend to party and blow off some steam. I had been told that Czech Republic had some of the greatest women and the best beer on the planet. I had such a great time that I visited 4 more times while I was in the army, and now I have been living here for 2 years! The exchange rate is not what it used to be, anywhere in the world. Thanks to the U.S. financial difficulties (george bush) the dollar is going way down. When I moved here 2 years ago I got 25 Czech Korun (Czech Crowns or kč) to the dollar. Now I'm getting right around 18, and it is steadily falling. You can't really count on the exchange rate too much anymore. In the end, it really all depends on what kind of nightlife you are looking for... Are you a beer and loud music kind of person or a total alcoholic that never remembers where you've been, or a red wine and semi quiet type...? Personally, I'm more into the Bohemian lifestyle so I figured, Why not go to Bohemia? If you're a beer drinker at all, Czech beer is the best in the world! There is an amazing underground music scene here and, as long as you're not carrying enough to supply all of Prague, there are certain recreational party favors that are legal here...
  4. Belgrade-Serbia
  5. I've heard that Belgrade's nightlife is quite vivid
  6. Paris, London, Hamburg are great - Hamburg is my personal favorite. St Pauli red light district, gay St George, Schanzearea left wing entertainment smile, 60 theaters, musicals, opera. concerts .... Avoid Berlin: too many Nazis ... I hate it there
