By experience, truthfully?
for my family with a 12 and 8 year old, boys, I need to know where the best place to live is, best schools, low crime, recreational, etc. We are looking to relocate in a couple of years, maybe to CO, Utah or NM and anyone with info by experience would be great. I already googled the info and I got a list from CNN, worthless info. please help. thanks

- I would suggest the following - I have done this on several moves. Go to the library. There should be a book in the reference section titled Places Rated Almanac. This is a great source of info.
- coronado, ca or san rafeal, ca
- Lowest crime, hands down state of Maine, this is where I live. You don't seem to even be considering it by the options you listed but I would highly reccomend it for raising a family, if you can do so visit, north of Portland, the people are real, honest and it is absolutely beautiful, I love this place and I can tell you the people make up for the long winters.....but kids LOVE the winter......lots to do!!!.......just a thought.....we don't lock our cars or doors at all......but it has to be north of portland and the further north the better.......JMO
- I am from Colorado, but within the last year, I have relocated to Minnesota. I have to say that the Mid-West is definatly family friendly in many ways. The school system here is fantastic! It outways my experience in Colorado by far! I live about 40 minutes NW of the Twin Cities, and the values here are like none I have ever known. There are over 17000 lakes and many other recreational things to do around here as well. Colorado is definatly a beautiful place! I would move back there in almost a heartbeat, but because of the education that my daughter is getting here, I won't. Her future is worth so much more to me then my love of the mountains!
- Not in MY backyard! Just kidding........northeast ny,VT, NH Maine........all low crime rate, lots of outdoor rec., schools are typical i suppose.
- I think that they are all good places. I live in Utah currently, and there is a fairly low crime rate, good educational systems, and there are may recreation activities to do, and it has been a very nice place. You can check out the state's websites to get more info on each state, like www.utah.gov etc. I know that Colorado and Utah are both good states, but I don't know a ton about New Mexico. Good luck!
