Where are the best (and cheapest) places to shop at in LA, California?
I live in Canada and it is my first time crossing the border to the US for a vacation this summer. I am staying at a relative's house and plan to do some shopping while I'm there. The exchange rate right now is currently good (almost 1:1) but I was told by friends that most clothing stores (Lacoste, Abercrombie, etc.) sell their items a bit cheaper than here in Canada. Where would be the best places (preferrably outlets) that I can shop at? Also, which American brands do they have that are not available in Canada?

- l.a dude kitson
- LA in state
- Swap Meets
- Downtown (and WalMart).
- thrift store.
- 99 cents store. Thier shirts dont even have a brand. .............do they even have shirts.............or cloths?
- South Central LA...you'll find lots of good deals.
- Outlets here in the US carry dated clothing. Unless you are looking for a classic piece or accessories it really isn't worth it. If you are going to LA go to Melrose Ave in West Hollywood. There are some bigger name stores but most are small boutiques. The turnover there is huge so many places have clearance prices. Good for celebrity spotting too. Another fun place is the 3rd street Promenade (Major stores and small boutiques too) in Santa Monica 10 miles outside of LA. Its a touristy type spot but a must see.
