- No, only because I wasn't there and in 6 years 100 years ago we would be heading into the 1st world war lol, i mean Yes, it's better
- I wasn't around 100 years ago, but maybe, it was a better place. There were more trees, more predictable weather and people, i heard from my folks, were more respectful and more congenial. Better yet, it took a long time to go to war and kill people, innnocents and guilties alike. NOw, it takes only days and hours to kill both the innocents and the guilties. And the guilties have not even been tried, they're just suspects and then, kaboom!, a bomb drops on their heads!
- Definitely not. The world is truly f*cked up.
- Ask the majority of the world population. It is only the minority that benefits from our progress. Most people still live in poverty and famine, lack of employment opportunity, basic health care, educational opportunity, or any kind of resources to insure basic survival. Now consider the countless billions of dollars we spend to go to the moon or Mars or other solar explorations, or the amount of money invested in developing new drugs that often wind up becoming as life threatening as life saving. Compare that to the fact that every day, 25,000 children die for lack of simple health care. About 150 just in the time required to read these posts. Is the world better off today? I'm not suggesting we should not explore, or develop new medicines, but there's something wrong with this picture. We need to take of of those problems we have here before spending money on our curiosities. So, to answer your question, it depends on who you are and where you live. The majority of the world's population however is no better off today then 100 years ago, and in many ways are worse off considering the additional threats they face as a result of the "progress" created by the industrialized nations, such as global warming, other pollution levels, weapons proliferation, etc.etc. Charles P.
- Sorry, don't have time to do your homework. Good-luck. Asi sea....
