What is the best five sports cities in the United States?

Rank your five best sports cities in U.S. in order and give a reason why. Mine are... 1)Philly: they boo alot but they are knowledgable and passionate (Eagles, Sixers, Phillies, Flyers, Nova, Temple, Drexel, St. Joes, Penn) 2)Charlotte: southern up and coming fans (Panthers, Bobcats, UNCC, mostly NASCAR(especially lil' e)) 3)Boston: extremely loyal fans (Red Sox, Celtics, Pats, Bruins, BC) 4)NYC: the most hated of the hated but winners (Giants/Jets, Knicks/Nets, Yankees/Mets, Islanders/Rangers) 5)Chicago: a little spoiled and very loftty expectations (Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs/White Sox) that's my list I know I didn't list Detroit (their #6 if you ask me) or LA (they can only keep the Lakers and colleges so no thanks) or a lot more southern cities (mostly college cities) but that's how I see it. i added Charlotte for something that many of you sports fans aren't even considering... NASCAR. It's the biggest growing sport and Charlotte is it's capital. P.S. winning has nothing to do with it. Philly, Chicago, and Boston for a long time had clubs that couldn't win a scrimmage but they still showed up. What good is winning if fans don't show up (i.e. Florida Marlins) All you LA people are disqualified. You had TWO NFL teams and couldn't keep one. That reeks of not supporting your club. And you don't deserve to get an expansion team. I will give you guys the Lakers and Dodgers though.

  1. ... Charlotte?... What? Umm... I don't think Charlotte is in the top 10...
  2. right now i would say 1 Boston 2 NYC 3 Chicago 4 LA 5 Philly
  3. Charlotte isn't even in the top 20.
  4. new york boston chicago la miami
  5. Replace Charlotte with LA in you have it right.
  6. 1. Boston - enough said 2. New York - 28 championships don't lie 3. Los Angles - Lakers, Dodgers, and now Angels, and UCLA 4. Chicago - third greatest fans in the world 5. Detroit - Red wings, Michigan state, and now Tigers ..... (down the list to the botom)......... Worst. Florida - sorry, but the bottom of the AL and NL, Worst team in Football, bad college teams, and bad Basketball teams

  8. shouldnt winning have something to do with the list? philly hasnt won anything. how can they be #1? come on, charlotte? are you kidding?
  9. I don't think that Charlotte is top sports cities in the five. My list is; 1. Boston (Pats, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins) 2. New York City (Islanders, Devils, Rangers, Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, and Nets) 3. Los Angeles (Kings, Ducks, Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, Clippers, USC, and UCLA) 4. Chicago (Blackhawks, Bulls, Bears, White Sox, and Cubs) 5. San Fransisco-Oakland- (Sharks, Warriors, Niners, Raiders, Giants, and A's)
  10. all i know is the wings ,pistons , tigers and the very sorry lions almost alsways play to a capacity crowd how can a city wit hon francise be considered # 2 oh and by not including Dallas you left out one of the most sports crazy cities i have ever been in maybe you should have made top 10 instead
  11. I would say 1.Boston 2.NYC 3.Chicago 4.LA 5.Philly Well I live in NYC and I'm a Mets fan and the most faithful anf craziest fans is Boston, they breath sport, Celtics, Pats, and Bo Sox.
  12. I lived in California my entire life and anyone that has a city in California in their top 5 is way off.. Californians just do not support their teams like the other major cities.. I travel a lot and here is my top 5. 1. Philadelphia 2. Chicago 3. New York 4. Boston 5. Pittsburgh
  13. Here are my top five for the MIdwest - I honestly can't compare nationally and question as to how many people "truly" can 1) St. Louis - the best baseball fans in MLB bar none! Also solid support for SLU, the Rams, Blues, and the MVC Tournament. 2) Indianapolis - great support for the Colts, Pacers, NCAA basketball tournament games and of course the Indy 500 3) Chicago - I can't stand them, but have to give them their due. THe Cubs and Bears receive very strong support and they do have teams in all the leagues. 4) Kansas City - strong followers of the Chiefs and Big Twelve sports. Not so good for the Royals, but KC will likely get an NHL or NBA team soon. 5t) Fort Wayne - rated by Sports Business Journal as the top city in terms of minor league sports. Not quite on the same level, but worth mentioning. 5t) Madison - great support for the Packers and Badger sports across the board. Also supporters of the Brewers and several national outdoor festivals in the summer. Not listed - Detroit, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Des Moines,
  14. 1 Boston 2 NYC 3 Minnesota 4 LA 5 PHI
  15. One must mention Oakland in here. Although the town is blue collar, and poor, most of these others cities, like Chicago, Philly, etc., have not done what Oakland has done: provided championships in all 3 sports the past 35 years.
  16. 1.Boston 2.New York 3.Detroit 4.Chicago 5.L.A.
  17. New York Chicago Boston LA Philadelphia (they're AHs, but they know their sports)
  18. Los Angeles has a lot more than just basketball... Dodgers Lakers USC UCLA Kings Sparks Clippers Angels Avengers Galaxy Club Deportivo Chivas USA
  19. 1) Boston....Red Sox...no one else close 2) Boston.....Bruins "Gallery Gods" are legendary 3) Boston......Celtics......They're baaaaaaaaaack! 4) Boston.......Patriots....rabid, but sooooo obnoxious 5) Boston.......College....arrogant, overbearing,meddling alumni 'nuff said
  20. Yeah Charlotte, i dont see what your talking about... Well anyways 1.) Boston-they are on top right now with the Sox, Pats, and Celtics 2.) Chicago- Cubs fans, they think they can win the World Series every year, yet they never do... 3.) New York-Yankees,Mets, Giants, Jets, etc... i mean they have TWO of every team... 4.)Houston- yeah i know the only kinda decent team is the Astros, but I live there and H-town does have some loyal fans, Texans games are always sold out or close to it, and Astros fill up the stadium every nite they play, and the Rockets do the same. 5.) Dallas- Cowboys, enough said... they are sold out for the next 2 years on tickets. St. Louis would probably be about #5 also with the Cardinals and Rams.
  21. Boston New York Philly St. Louis Detroit All five cities have fans that represent well in passion and at the gate for almost all of their pro and major college teams. The next tier in my opinion is Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, LA, Denver and San Diego
  22. seattle has to be considered!!!! quest field is the loudest nfl croud. i know the sonics suck. but people are loud at m's games. and the dawg pack at hec ed(bank of america arena) is crazy loud. then i sadly have to say that cougar b-ball is doing good. so washington(the state) has to be up there, unless the sonics pull us down. and everett's whl team, the silvertips are extremley good and have produced some great hockey prospects. we also have great high-school sports too. Jackson High basball(travis snyder), snohomish football and b-ball(jon brockman), among others! this is a great sports state. we are very passionate!
