- I've only been to NY once, but I'll tell you......everywhere in NY is a great place to buy/eat/visit/shop. Plan on walking everywhere and you'll see everything. Then you decide what's best and what's not. Enjoy, it's an awsome place.
- Well, jewelry at Lord & Taylor is nice, and so is the jewelry in Bloomingdale's .... and there are a lot of little jewelry stores here and there .... it depends upon what you are looking for... or you could go shopping in the jewelry district which is west 47th street right off Fifth Avenue all along the street and onto Sixth Avenue .......lots of places there .... to eat: anywhere you are walking past and it looks good ....go there !
- If you want jewelry you need to go to 47th St. between 5th Ave. and 6th Ave. It is the main wholesale fine jewelry market in the USA and you can get things a a fraction of the price of Department Stores or Tiffany's. My wife just bought a triple strand of pearls there and I have bought her great gifts.
- Girlllllllll!!!! Let me tell you about this consignment shop in NYC! It's called Ina's Designer Consignment Store, it carries designer stuff ONLY! It's very nice in there, always tons of people trying to get stuff in there. It's very real, here's the website check it out. http://www.inanyc.com/ Oh yeah and get some cheesecake from Junior's Cheesecake, it is the best cheesecake in the world literally. You'll be talking about it the rest of your life! http://www.juniorscheesecake.com/
- canal street in china town. they have the cutest stuff and its reasonable. and the southstreet seaport mall. amazing.
- Hi, The best places to shop in new york are outside the city. Try Jersey Garden or Woodbury Common, just search for them on Google. They are the best outlet malls for miles!!! Have a great time. Regards, Anthony
- well i visited new york in november and macys is great for cheap make-up all mac, clinique and estelauder are half the price they would be in the uk!!! tiffanys was closed when i went but i have looked on the site and they do have some quite reasonably priced nice jewelery if you look. and also i would agree that walking is the best way to get around!!! opposite penn station near madison square gardens a couple of shops diown from the pennsylvania there is a great pizza ploace and then next door a gr8 chinese place. when you first look the hygene does not look very good and you wont wanna eat there bit once uve tried it ul luv it!!! its really cheap 2!!! for 2 huge slices of pizza a massive drink and a portion of waffles was $10 and also the chinese was everything the same price of $8 .
- Ah yes, someone after my own heart . . . you like jewelry, but don't want to pay through the nose for it. Fear not, New York has just what you need! In fact, two of the previous repondents got it right, but here it is in one answer: If it's the real deal you want (but not at real deal prices), head to the Diamond District, which is 47th Streeet been Fifth and Sixth Avenues (aka Avenue of the Americas). There's nothing glamorous about the stores here, but the selection is incredible, and the prices are shockingly low. For food, you're in a major restaurant area, and there are great places of every stripe on every block. If you want some glitzy bling but you're not concerned about (ahem) "authenticity," head to Canal Street in Chinatown. They sell knock-offs of every conceivable brand: Rolex, Tiffany, Cartier, etc.; but there are also 'real deal' jewelry stores that carry an assortment of inexpensive rings, bracelets and necklaces. The prices are low because they're imported directly from China in most cases, eliminating several layers of middlemen. For food in this neighborhood, let your nose guide you: There are dozens and dozens of Asian restaurants in Chinatown; nearly all of them are quite good, and most are cheap to boot! Good luck and happy shopping! Kango Traveler
