best places to live

Best cities to live in on the East Coast & why?

Please don't include NYC, I am choosing between: Baltimore, D.C., Philadelphia, & Boston. Please give opinions on the city (ie-like it, love it, hate it,etc) especially if you have lived/live there. Thanks! :)

  1. Boston of course, the bean!!
  2. I think many people are moving to Baltimore, taxes are cheaper maybe ?
  3. Baltimore is one of the most crime-ridden cities in the U.S. Don't choose that one. I think your choice is really between Philly & Boston, although I believe Boston has a high cost-of-living.
  4. they are all crime infested. I would choose Poughkeepsie NY whatever you do don't move to Baltimore, it is by far the worst US city on the East coast, the crime is horrible the city government is useless
  5. I would choose Boston from your list first, then Washington DC. Skip the other two completely they're ghetto. There are way more black people in DC though if that matters to you.
  6. I live in DC, and love Philly. Try to spend a couple days in each on a short road trip to get a feel for the cities.
  7. I would choose Boston. Boston is not to overcrowded and it offers good transportation and there are so many things to do in the Boston area. Its close to NYC for day trips and Boston has a great mood to it. I love it there.
  8. Check the cost of living for each of your choices. I think Boston is high. You want to also check monthly average tempertures. This will help you decide if the climate is what you want and compatible with your activities. There is a big difference between your northern most selection and your southern most. Check on the average commuting times. A long commute can make life unhappy. Good luck...
