- Of all the places I have visited, I prefer Germany the best. It is very hard to explain here but they are (were) very polite and had a lot of respect for other people's property. Example: You could go to a public swimming hole, strip down to your swim suit, leave your belongings in a pile, go swimming for as long as you desire and all of your belongings will still be right where you left them, untouched except for, maybe, a little water on them from wet bodies chasing each other, having fun. Where can one do that in the US? In Germany, no one looks down on another regardless of his or her occupation or monetarial status. I could go on but space is limited.
- there is an annual international survey that asks this question for you. 1) geneva 2) Zurich 3) (tie) Vancouver & Vienna 5) (tie) Aucland & Dusseldorf 7) frankfurt 8) Munich 9) (tie) Bern & Sydney. Criteria? some of them are; quality of life, personal safety, social, economic, and enviromental conditions.
