best places to live

Where are the best places to take little kids in Sarasota Florida ?

We will be on vacation in Sarasota in April what apart from the beach is there that little kids (ages 2 & 4) would like to do. We have been to the water fountain at Island Park on the bay. Someone mentioned Potter Park - what is there ?

  1. the beach
  2. The beach in Sarasota. You can take them to St. Petersburg where there is an aquarium or up to Busch Gardens in Tampa. Tampa also has a Kids City Museum where they can push around shopping carts in a supermarket, hand out money at a bank, serve people from McDonald's
  3. The Jungle Gardens of Sarasota. Mostly gardens littered with flamingos and parrots, but also has a petting zoo, play area and some small shows displaying birds of prey and alligators and other lizards. http://www.sarasotajunglegardens.com Bishop Planetarium and South Florida Museum. Located in Bradenton, Sarasota's neighbor. It has a manatee area, museum, play area, et cetera, along with the planetarium. http://www.southfloridamuseum.org Adventure Island. Branching out a bit. This is a water park in Tampa. Lot's of fun water slides, lagoon, play areas, waterfalls, game arcades, et cetera. http://www.adventureisland.com Busch Gardens Tampa. An adventure park featuring many African animals. Lots of rides, roller coasters, shows and gardens. http://www.buschgardens.com/bgt Florida Aquarium in Saint Petersburg. An aquarium featuring Florida's aquatic life, animals and birds. There's a live sting ray tank where you can touch one (safe). http://www.flaquarium.org Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa. A museum that offers walking trails, butterfly gardens, information about Florida and its plants and animals, and games and interactive learning about the solar system. Also features the IMAX theater with movies on sea life, Alaska and rain forests. http://www.mosi.org You could also catch a Tampa Bay Ray baseball game, too. Tickets a VERY cheap compared to other ballparks and there are some other activities inside the dome including a live touch ray tank... again. The Trop is in downtown Saint Petersburg. http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/tb/ballpark (Tampa and Saint Petersburg is an hour or less from Sarasota.) Enjoy your trip!
