Best places in North Texas for single 21 y/o?

I'm currently living in SoCal and am thinking of moving to Texas. My family lives in the North Texas area and have told me to check out places like Denton, Grapevine, Irving, and Addison. Can anyone tell me more about these places (especially Grapevine & Addison) and also tell me if there are any other places I should check out? I love being close to nightlife and shopping. This is a HUGE transistion for me, so I want to make sure I'll be happy where I am.

1. I don't think of Grapevine as an area that is close to any sort of nightlife, but there is a really large mall in that area. Adison is a great area for both shopping and entertainment, its not too far from Dallas, but close enough to everything else. If living in Adison is outside your budget, consider Carrollton. If money isn't an issue, I'd consider lower greenville, this is in Dallas, near everything (you can walk). Denton is a college town, so if you want that scene, got for it! I went to school there and its really a good size city where the drive into Dallas isn't horrible. Because its a college town there are lots of bars, live bands, and things like that. The shopping is pretty lame, but its not a bad drive to better shopping. Lewisville is a great place for a modest budget and may be where your money will go the furthest. Its has a great mall and lots of stores. Its an easy drive to grapevine, carrollton, adison, dallas...
2. All those above, and I would add Las Colinas. It's a section of Irving that is full of apartments and it's still relatively nice, a lot of younger single people move there.
3. Grapevine is Awesome I love it, I lived there pretty much all my life, there aren't any like clubs or nightlife in the town, but, if you drive to Dallas which is about 25-30 minutes away You will find many clubs and Night life. Grapevine is a very nice town the people are so friendly you would love it! Good luck with your decision.
4. You should check out Six Flags its hippp!!!!!!! u should alwayss try the malls :grapvine mall, the parks at arlington
