How do I choose the best Florida city to live in?
My husband works in construction all over Florida but mostly between Ft. Lauderdale and Melbourne. I am currently in Key West but need to find a place where my husband can be closer to home. We have one child in 1st grade and one starting high school and would like to live in an area with good schools and fun things for the kids to do. I also need to find a job in teaching or Social work. I need some advice on how to go about choosing the best city.

- Spend time with your husband traveling around so you get to see the different towns. Fort Lauderdale is fun, has lots to do, has science museum, art fares and such. It also has quite a few houses going cheep because of the sub prime mess. Quite a lot of rebuilding going on so if your husband does re-modeling there is lots of work. Ft Lauderdale is connect by big highways to most of the rest of the state. Has I75 going to west Florida. I95 and the turnpike going to North Florida. Has two big East - West routes, 595 and Sawgrass expressway. Got lots of malls, including the huge Sawgrass Mall out west. Try some of the older neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale by the river, like Rio Vista or Victoria Park.
