  1. I hear Natomas is nice.
  2. In sacramento; pocket area, land park, McKinley park, East Sacramento.. seperate cities in the suburbs; wilton, elk grove, roseville, folsom. AVOID natomas, it's overrated and is prone to massive flooding.
  3. what are you looking for in price, location, commute, and schools shop around and ask questions about the areas your interested in .
  4. Citrus Heights or Roseville
  5. I grew up in Fair Oaks and really loved it. It has the small town feel with the Big town benefits. I recommend it 100 %
  6. elk grove, california. it's a suburb about 15-20 minutes from downtown sacramento. elk grove is all housing, it's all families with a huge growing school district. all the young families are moving out here. it's pretty safe too, there's barely any apartments so it's all settled families living here. neighborhood and nearby shops, restaurants are all fairly new too.
  7. sacramento sucks in my opinion all concrete extremely hot summer (frying pan hot) high crime. i would stay far from the city. roseville is pretty nice. granitebay if you can afford it. i consider the city of sacramento and west sacramento one of the worst places to raise kids in the us. but if you have to be near there for job or custody reasons try natomas or the aforementioned places that are close but not too close. one upside is it has a pretty decent job market. the housing market 3 years ago was so bad that house prices were doubling in 2 years. theres a high demand and influx of bay area people selling their houses and buying up ones in sac. this is the case with alot of people on the west coast. they sell their crappy houses that have become valuable cause of thier location and either moving to a cheaper city or to oregon and washington. the housing market is going down this year and you probably already know that CA $UCK$. anyhow good luck on your search
  8. Rocklin, and anywhere outside of Sacramento, would be worth looking into. My son lives in Rocklin with his children and wife, and they love it. It is quiet, not much crime, and just far enough away from Sacro to be in the better part of the area. My son works in Sacro and commutes. Not a big deal. But definitely look outside of Sacro, not in the city itself. Good luck.
  9. I have 13 and 16 year old kids. We have lived in Land Park for 11 years. Land Park has a great Little League and rec soccer club, there are lots of "neighborhood" activities. I think your kids would be happy here, or East Sacramento or River Park. There are lots of families, walkable streets and good schools in these neighborhoods. They are historic neighborhoods that have held their value better than the new homes in Natomas or Elk Grove. I know there are good schools in those places, but there are not-so-good ones, too. Rocklin, Granite Bay, etc. are nice and more homogenous but a long commute into the City with consistent traffic.
  10. Try Natomas...the houses there are really nice.
