Where are the best places to live at in Northern Coastal Californial for expense, good jobs, low crime?

I will be moving with my partner to Northern CA this late summer. I have tried to conduct research online, but it isn't easy. I would love detailed feedback on what towns/cities are the best to live in along or not far from the coast that have good crime rates, good job wages, decent rental housing that is affordable, and nature and culture nearby (good restaurants, parks, etc.) Please help this is a huge move and we are trying to prepare by getting all the knowledge we can. How is Eureka, Arcata, Santa Cruz to live in?The general northern coast looks just beautiful but I am wondering if some cities/towns are better then others for what I listed above. I really hope there are several choices. Thanks for any and all help!

  1. Rocklin is not too coastal, but it's close enough and it's one of my favorite, lovely little cities.
