Best places to live in the USA, if you are in the teaching profession?
Best places should include the following: good schools (including teacher support), good salary, low crime, able to buy a house.
Public Comments
- Houston, Texas
- Central PA. Depending on what your certification is, it may take you a few years to find a job, but subs get paid very well (at least $100/day). I have only been teaching 1 year and I make 35,000. The area is rural, making crime virtually non-existant, and it is very easy to buy a house. Any area of Pa is good for pay, but as you may guess, Philly and Pittsburgh are sort of high in crime, and housing can be expensive.
- Clovis California. It's one of the best public school districts in the state for all the reasons you list above. My friend is a techre there and she loves it.
- INDIANA
- Alaska has one of the highest teacher salaries because of the lack of qualified applicants. Las Vegas also has a growing community and offers good benefits.
