Where is a good halfway house that help u learn how to live clean of drugs in VA or NC that admits w\o money?
I am in recovery from drugs and alcohol and need a place to live that doesn't interfere with my recovery. At the moment I am unemployable and looking for work. Even if I had work I would not make enough to afford my own home in this area even with help from the state. I need somewhere to go without money that people can teach me how to transition from this lifestyle to being able to support myself and be self-sufficent. I am already in recovery and do not need anything extremely intensive just help to learn how to make it on my own. I am looking for somewhere in VA or NC. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated also. Thank You

- There is a place in Greensboro, NC called the "Malachi House". Try these phone#'s (336)621-1225 or (336)574-0379. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
- My brother-in-law was in a very similar situation and he went to a place in Cache Oklahoma. I think it is called 'Teen Challenge' but I'm not sure if you have to be a teen to get in. He wasn't. He's now a counselor there and loves it. They travelled to NYC not too long ago. In a search I found "Teen Challenge has a rehabilitation programs for men and women ages 19-45 who desire freedom from drugs and alcohol, etc." so guess you don't have to be a Teen. Since I don't know your age I'm just gonna send some links. Here is one for Virginia http://www.teenchallenge.com/main/centers/virginia.html and here is one for North Carolina http://www.teenchallenge.com/main/centers/north_carolina.html . They got my bro-in-law a job and he is doing good on his own. Both his parents died at a very young age and he lived on other peoples couches for a while. Got mixed up in drugs, etc. Anyway, I think this sounds like a good program for you. Good luck! P.S. I'm not affiliated with the teen challenge I just know that it worked for my kin and it sounds like the right program for ya. ;)
