best places to live

What are some the best cities in Turkey for me to visit?

I would like to know the top ten or at least 5 cities to see other than Istanbul. It is for a trip i am planning and part of the plan involves arriving at IST, basically the city of Istanbul.

Believe me Turkey's every city worths seeing but if you wanna see the top 5 here it is : - istanbul ( a wonderful city with tons of cultural and historical places like Hagia Sophia.) -izmir,Ephesus ( a big ancient greek city with temples, keeps world's one of wonders.) -Nevsehir,Cappadocia ( a wonderful popular tourist destination, as it has several cone-shaped geological formations) -Antalya ( one of Europe's most beautiful places to spend your summer holiday.Antalya is also famous for its waterfalls and landscapes. - Denizli,Pamukkale (meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish and Only a few other places in the world are somewhat similar. One of Turkey's must sees.
  5. Definitely explore Istanbul, but I would agree with Hurricane's list. I have visited 4 of the 5 places on his list & must concur. No doubt, you'll have a wonderful time wherever you visit.
  6. Kuşadası (Belongs to city Aydın---nice beaches, night life, good food, Ephesus, Zeus's cave, natural park), Bodrum (Belongs to city Muğla), Pamukkale (cotton castle--Denizli), Cappadocia (belongs to city Nevşehir), Marmaris (belongs to city Muğla), Kaş (Belongs to city Antalya---good for scuba diving)
  7. İstanbul Ephesus / İzmir Cappadocia / Nevşehir Kuşadası / Aydın Pamukkale / Denizli Have fun!
  8. 1. Antalya (it has great sandy beaches, museums, historical sights, natural parks and waterfalls) http://www.antalya-ws.com/ 2. Izmir (many historical sights including Ephesus and Pergamon, museums, nice beaches) http://www.izmir.gen.tr/eng/ 3. Mugla (especially Bodrum, Fethiye, Marmaris, Dalaman and Datca areas) http://www.mugla-turizm.gov.tr/en/index.asp 4. Denizli (Pamukkale, natural beauty) http://www.turkeytravelplanner.com/go/Aegean/Pamukkale/index.html 5. Nevsehir (Cappadocia, national park and rock sites) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cappadocia Sanliurfa (Harran) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harran Canakkale (Troy) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy Konya (Mevlevi derwishes) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mevlevi Agri (Ishakpasa Palace, Agri Mountain) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishakpasa_palace http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Ararat There are many options, enjoy Turkey
  9. Eskişehir... You can go eskişehir by express trains . It is about 4-5 hour to eskişehir . Eskişehir is a university student city . You will not have a speaking problem . City has a beatiful atmosphere like Venezia . If you don't want to stay in there you can go back to İstanbul with night trains. 1 day will be enough to visit Eskişehir .
  10. I suggest you take a historical map(s) and books, and visit, after Istanbul: Ephesus Trabzon Mardin Edirne Historical map, because it will help you see the "depth" of the sites, rather than the "surface".
  11. Tell more details about who you are and what you are after-Nightlife or history?
  12. Well without a doubt Istanbul, then Izmir Selcuk Ephesus Antalya, and Cappodocia... You have then covered the basics, for a more relaxed time try Bodrum...
  13. 1- Corum 2- Yozgat 3- Kastamonu 4- Cankiri 5- Haymana county
