My best friend and I are planning a trip to Europe in March. What 3 cities would make a good tour?
We are interested in seeing 3 cities that are historically rich as well as great shopping and easy to navigate. We are concerned about the safety of two girls traveling alone so safety is a concern. We would also like to know what makes sense in terms of location and trains/flying as well as being affordable. Thanks!

- Paris, London and Barcelona
- you HAVE to go to Dublin. It's a great city with great shopping. The people are friendly, too.
- Vienna, Prague, and Munich. or London, Paris, and Stockholm Also, try http://www.ryanair.com for good deals traveling from city to city, though the train is more fun.
- London, Venice, Berlin.
- Well Europe is a relatively safe place... I am not sure where you are from but it is actually safer (less violant crime) than most places in america... however small crime (like pickpockets) are far more prevelant. Now because of discount airfare there is really no limit to what three cities you can visit within terms of location and trains/flying. You can see the blog article on cheap flights by clicking below: http://www.scottstravelblog.com/2007/06/inexpensive-airfare.html But I will tell you that Western Europe is far less affordable than eastern Europe. Personally, I found Bosnia, Serbia and former Yugoslovic countries to be some of the cheapest and nicest places to go... but a lot of people don't go there because they are a bit afraid... There are so many different options for you. I recommend (if comming from america) flying into frankfurt international or Cologne Germany... Taking a discount flight directly from there to maybe Barcelona ... than you can take a plane to Rome and than a plane to austria or budapest...Or SEVERAL other variations... Plane rides often are much much much cheaper than taking a train! There are so many different options it is impossible to list them all without knowing more about what you want.. and how long you will be traveling for. Just know that the best trips are the trips where you dont plan everything to a T. I write a bunch about traveling to Europe... I Have been on several backpacking trips to most countries in Europe. You can checkout the blog at : http://www.scottstravelblog.com Oh yes.. be cautious before buying a railpass... it probably would not be a very good value for the type of traveling you want to do. If you need any more help planning you can e-mail me at scott@scottstravelblog.com Happy Travels!
- Fly to Vienna, train to Prague, train to Budapest, train or boat back to Vienna, Fly home. All three are very safe, historically rich cities. Not too far apart and you can do many interesting day trips if so inclined.
