Best places to Visit in Arizona?

We'll be traveling everywhere in Arizona in July. North, south, east, and west. What are the best cities to visit? What attractions are the ones we must see? And while visiting the Grand Canyon, what is the best way to navigate this (guided tour, etc)?

1. I would recommend the Phoenix Zoo, & the Desert Botanical garden. Both would need to be visited in the morning. Also there are some pretty cool museums - the Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard museum, and the Scottsdale Museum of contemporary art are all cool. Maybe one evening visit Tempe and hike a mountain and walk along Mill Ave and the Tempe town lake park. Enjoy!
