is ahwatukee arizona a great place to live? im a graphic designer major, would phoenix be my best bet for work

i m thinking about relocating to ahwatukee arizona next year and need information about this location.

1. Ahwatukee is a great place. It's a little expensive now, but it's in a good location. There's a few local bars/restaurants and plenty of shopping there, and in Chandler which is right next door. 2. Yes it is a nice part of town.
3. Yes. It is a nice place to live. I live there currently. There is very low crime, it has plenty of shops and restaurants, and good supermarkets and gyms. The major downside for me is the morning commute to downtown Phoenix. There is gridlock traffic every morning and evening on the 10 freeway, and there is really only one decent shortcut to take: 48th street. And since everyone takes 48th street for a shortcut, it gets gridlocked as well. This is all because Ahwatukee is surrounded by mountains so there is limited routes to take to get into and out of Ahwatukee. To me this is the main reason why I will be moving out of Ahwatukee in June after spending only a year there. The commute is a nightmare.
