I want to become an event planner, do you have to live in outrageous, big cities?
I love the parties and the clubs. Becoming a club promoter or a party planner, sounds fun! Please help! Where do i began? where do i go to college? do i have to go to a university or tech? and will it be worth it? Does anyone do this for a living? fun? stressful? do u get paid well? And most important, do u have to live in a huge big city, like L.A., Vegas, or New York?

- No, just live in a city not a town if you know what I mean, New York is 3 horse town, you need a 2 horse town not a 1 horse town
- Go to DeVry University; called Hospitality Management.
- I would suggest a couple steps. First, it would be helpful for you to pursue a degree in public relations, marketing, advertising or hospitality management. While doing that, it may be a good idea to find a job working part time in street promotions/guerilla marketing. There are a lot of promotions agencies that hire people to handout promotional givewaways on street corners. You can also find these jobs by searching part time event marketing in your city. I wouldn't approach a club directly unless you're interested in getting a job as a server... You probably should also go to a larger city because that's where most opportunities are located: NY, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, Miami, etc. By the way, the hours for working in event management are non-traditional to begin with; however, if you're interested in working in clubs, I suspect you could imagine the type of hours required. Good luck!
