What are some awesome big cities to live in for college, work, and play besides NYC?

4. Los Angeles, CA! I lived there for 3 months during college (then i had financial problems) but it is an AWESOME city to live in. Very close to HOLLYWOOD. Very close to many beaches. Excellent weather, excellent people, excellent property. Try it :-)

9. I would go for a smaller setting, with lots of things to do and it would have to offer an excellant education. Work would definitely have to be a seconday goal, as most starting jobs require relocation. (Which might be a plus for larger cities to avoid having to relocate for the first job.) Just about any city in the US would more than likely meet your requirements (until you define them a little closer, then things will change).
