Best cities to live in the States?
I know this question has been asked many times, but always get different opinions. I would like to hear it again. I lived in Bay Area, California for 5 years, then for job related issue, currently live in Vancouver, Canada. I kinda like both places. The California has very nice weather, but not much going on (boring). Vancouver is nice, very convenient to go around, nice beaches, but rains a lot, and small city. I am considering to move to Florida, which I heard it's fun, like beaches, weather, crowded, but downsides could be the education (for our children in the future), and safety. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I live in San Jose area, there's nothing going on. There's no cars on the street after 10pm, all stores closed. If I wanted to go to beaches, I had to drive like 1 hour, and found out there's nobody there, even in the weekend. New York could be fun, like the scenes in Garfields where he lives. anyone know which area/city is that?

- New York. You know this. Always New York.
- How can you call California boring? If you can't find excitement there then I doubt you'll find it anywhere else.
- San Francisco or NYC
- I could give you the long lecture but to save us both time, Orlando's a tourist trap. It's convientally located to beaches, theme parks (which are too expensive to visit if you live here) and universities. The schools suck really bad and the people are rude. A lot of puerto rican live here, so learning spanish is a good idea. (I'm puerto rican by the way) and lots of restaurants and malls. It's okay for a while but moving around is funner than just living here.
- new england, because we have the four seasons and whatever you want.
- Michigan,If you like it quieter New York, if you like a big city Florida,If you like it always warm.
- I love California(I lived in Beverly Hills for 4 yrs then moved to Santa Barabara and lived there for 5 and a half yrs)its sunny but gets really hot...florida is also pretty nice, but it gets hit by hurricanes often. Personally, I like visiting FL but I would never move there. New York is an awesome place to live and so is Boston
- You might like to consider Omaha. I begrudgingly moved here about 18 months ago when my company transferred me. Its been the best move of my life. Its got a little of everything you can imagine and not too far from many other big cities. Cost of living is very low with the average house price in the best part of town at only about 150K. Schools are fantastic and I track my children's progress daily on the internet where grades and attendence is reported. Jobs are plentyful and many major companies have offices here. Konagra, one of the countries largest food companies has its headquarters here. Crime is very low and I rarely see police on the streets other than for routine traffic stops. If you like the outdoors, there is hunting, fishing, boating and camping all within 30 minutes of the city. If you like culture, the city has a major conference/events arena attracting Aerosmith and the like. Even in the rush hour, traffic is only moderate compared to most large cities. I live on the opposite side of the city from the airport and can make it there in under 30 minutes. There is loads more I could tell you but I would suggest a trip to see the city. I was very impressed and I have lived in Munich, Berlin, San Francisco, and Heidelberg. I have the highest quality of life I have ever enjoyed since moving here. By the way, for education, there are two major universities in Omaha; University of Nebraska, Omaha and Creighton. If you child successfully graduates in the top percent of their high school they are automatically awarded a scholarship at Univ of Nebraska.
- You left out hurricanes in Florida.Try Spokane,Washington or Ogden,Utah.I live in Houston now,it sucks, but have to many commitments to be able to leave.I have lived in both places I recommended. So know they are real good.
