best places to live

what is the best place to live in British Columbia for farming or growing cows?

we are looking for farmland in BC, Canada for our retirement. My husband like to live in small city but to have easy access to the airport ( couple hours to drive would be okay ) since lots of our family live overseas.

  1. Contact the provincial ministy of agriculture in BC for all the info you need. By the way, I've never heard 'raising cattle' described as 'growing cows'. Are you sure agriculture is the right thing for you? :-)
  2. Beef or dairy? I live on southern Vancouver Island and there is a well developed dairy industry here and the place is very beautiful. There is an international airport near Victoria (the provincial capital). Most beef production in B.C. is in the interior where there is more range land. The climate is much colder and the living more remote though the prices of land are much lower as well. I love 'the island' and would never want to leave here. The town where I live is surrounded by farms and vineyards and the weather is very mild. http://www.cowichan.bc.ca/
