What are the best South-East Cities to live in?

I live in New York and want to move south. Would consider NC, SC, or GA. I haven't been to too many places down there. I was thinking the Raleigh, NC area, or one if it's neighbor cities. But what about Charlotte? Athens? Winston-Salem? Columbia? How do I know which areas are even worth checking out? I'm looking for a quiet, slower lifestyle then the Northeast. But I still want a decent Barnes & Noble and the prospect of finding a job. Does anyone know any websites that help you explore areas for relocation?

  1. Hinesville Ga is a nice town to live in or maybe Jesup Ga. Jesup is smaller than Hinesville and much slower. Savannah is minutes away from Hinesville. Barnes & Nobles is in Savannah. Brunswick Ga is very nice and quiet.
  2. Well as fas as the NC cites ,the Triangle area (Raleigh,Durham, Chapel Hill are all very nice) more to do in the Raleigh part. I live in Greensboro, which is nice too. Winston-Salem is nice. Charlotte has nice areas, but it's best if you live on the outskirts. All of these areas have Barnes and Nobles and have a good chance of finding a job. You'll also save a lot of money in cost of living down here. All the cities I've mention are pretty close to each other so checking them out is really easy.
  3. I would say definately check out Atlanta, GA - Savannah, GA - Charleston, SC - Charlotte, NC
