Help please!I have no place to live and I only have $10 until Mon. Where can I go in N.O. for shelter and food

I am homeless. I have no where to sleep tonight except in my car. I took my kids to stay with their father. I have a job but since Katrina things are so expensive. I dont even have money to eat. I have $10 for gas in my car to go to work. I get paid on Monday. I have only eaten a bag of chips all day. Where can I go to get food and shelter. I have no money for a lot of gas so I can not go that far. I live in New Orleans. I am scared to sleep on the streets or in my car. I am a woman. Can someone please tell me where i can go to get something to eat and a place to sleep?

3. I can only guess you are using a computer at the library. That's a good place to start. The librarian may know of some literature there that has options for you. Shame on your kids' dad for not offering you so much as a spot for a sleeping bag on the floor. Goddess bless.

According to their web site, "Overnight guests are given a bed for the night; are required to take a shower and shampoo their hair (toiletries and other necessities provided by Ozanam), and are loaned a clear pair of pajamas to sleep in. Anyone (men, women and children) may partake in our meal program. Breakfast is served at 6:00 am, lunch is at 2:00 pm (both are hot meals cooked at the Inn), and sandwiches (made at the Inn) are our dinner meal and are served at 6:00 pm. 6. Go to police station and ask them where is the women shelter at. Go there!! You might have to fill out some paper.
7. Think if I was in your position,the last thing that would be on my mind is going on the net to ask questions.Ask your ex for short term help...surely he is human?
8. go to a bapthis church and ask the father for help he will point you in the right direction.
